The Metamorphosis ( Die Verwandlung) is a novella by Franz Kafka, first published in 1915. It is one of the main works of short fiction of the last century. The story begins with a traveling salesman, Gregor Samsa, waking to find himself transformed into a monstrous insect-like creature.
Although it is not actually an English reading, it is going to be interesting to see the style of the English translation.
